Southport & Fairfield
If you’re staying at the Delamar Hotel or elsewhere in Southport . . .
We recommend Artisan (at the Delamar) or Paci for a nice dinner. Gray Goose Café is great for lunch or a more casual dinner. If you are craving a slice of pizza, Sammy’s Southport is delicious. If you want a cold beer and some bar food, stop by the Horseshoe Café - a local favorite that has been in business since 1934. The Sono Baking Company & Café (Pequot Ave. location) is our go-to for breakfast pastries and coffee. For those looking to get to the beach, Southport Beach is about a mile and a half walk from the Delamar. For a scenic walk, Harbor Road along Southport Harbor is found about a half mile from the Delamar. Go to Lattice House to shop for your home, garden, or dog or Spic & Span Market for a quick (but delicious) sandwich to go.
If you’re staying at the Circle Hotel or elsewhere in Fairfield . . .
The best pizza in the country can be found in New Haven, Connecticut, at either Frank Pepe’s Pizza (the Ellis Family favorite) or Sally’s Apizza. We’d encourage anyone flying into Hartford to stop by the original location(s) in New Haven, but for those who are unable to make that trip, both Pepe’s and Sally’s have Fairfield locations. We love Village Bagels or Gruel Britannia for breakfast and Firehouse Deli or Nordic Fish for quicker lunches. For dinner, go to Quattro Pazzi or The Chelsea. The Blind Rhino is great for watching sports. The Seagrape is a fun dive bar. For any meal, or just to have a drink outside in the heart of Fairfield, try The Old Post Tavern. Jennings Beach is less than a mile walk from the Circle. For a lobster roll, we recommend Nordic Fish.
